NEWS INSIDE/ BUREAU: Inflation has hit the people once again. Following the ever-rising price of petrol in the country, the price of milk has also gone up sharply. Amul has increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter. Amul has increased the price of gold, fresh, and Shakti milk by Rs 2 per liter. This increase has been implemented by Gujarat Milk Marketing Federation. Which will be implemented from 1 July. Following this price hike, the new price of 500 ml pouch of Amul Gold in Ahmedabad market is Rs. 29 and Amul fresh 500 ml pouch priced at Rs. 23 is done. Amul Shakti 500 ml pouch by Amul priced at Rs. 26 has been born. The price hike is also scheduled to be implemented in Delhi and NCR, West Bengal, Mumbai, and other markets in Maharashtra. Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF) has increased milk prices after a year and a half. Earlier in December 2019, Amul had announced an increase in milk prices. However, only gold and fresh prices went up at a time when milk prices of all varieties have gone up. According to GCMMF sources, petrol and diesel prices have been steadily rising for the past year. At the same time, the price of animal feed has gone up, which has led to an increase in Amul’s costs. Because of this, Amul has also increased the price of milk. Eighty percent of the money received from consumers through the Amul co-operative structure is returned to the milk producers. Most of the price hike in the selling price of milk will go back to the milk producers and they will continue to be encouraged to increase milk production.
